Instruction for examination

NOTE :  Candidates are advised to readcarefully special instructions to candidatesfor conventional type tests and objectivetype tests given in Appendix-IV (Part A &Part B) including the procedure regardingfilling in the Answer Sheet of objective typetests in the Examination Hall.

3. In the Personality Test special attentionwill be paid to assessing the candidate’sc a p a c i t y   f o r   l e a d e r s h i p ,   i n i t i a t i v e   a n dintellectual curiosity, tact and other socialqualities, mental and physical energy,powers of practical application and integrityof character.

4. Conventional papers must be answeredin English. Question papers will be set inEnglish only.

5. Candidates must write the papers in theirown hand. In no circumstances will they beallowed the help of a scribe to write theanswers for them.

6. The Commission have discretion to fixminimum qualifying marks in any or all thepapers of the examination. The Objective Type papers as contained in Section-I oft h e   P l a n   o f   t h e   E x a m i n a t i o n   w i l l   b ee v a l u a t e d   f i r s t   a n d   e v a l u a t i o n   o f   t h eConventional Type Papers contained inSection-II of the Plan of Examination willbe done only of those candidates whoobtain the minimum qualifying marks inObjective Types Papers, as fixed by theCommission.

7. Marks wi l l  not  be al lot ted  for  meresuperficial knowledge.

8 .  D e d u c t i o n   u p t o   5   p e r   c e n t   o f   t h emaximum marks for the written papers willbe made for illegible handwriting.

9. Credit will be given for orderly, effectiveand exact expression combined with dueeconomy of words in the conventionalpapers of the Examination.

1 0 .  In  the quest ion papers,  whereverrequired, SI units will be used.NOTE: Candidates will be supplied withstandard tables/charts in SI units in theExamination hall for reference purpose,wherever considered necessary.

11. Candidates are permitted to bring anduse battery operated pocket calculators forconventional (essay) type papers only.Loaning or inter-changing of calculators inthe Examination hall is not permitted.It is also important to note that candidatesare not permitted to use calculators foranswering Objective Type Paper (Test book lets). They should not, therefore, bring thesame inside the Examination Hall.

12. Candidates should use only Internationalform of Indian numerals (e.g. 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc.)while answering question papers.
